<summary>This style was adapted from the Chicago format with full notes and bibliography. However it is significantly different from that style. It follows the complex use of op. cit. favoured by Clio Medica where when op. cit. is used it must refer back to the original reference - e.g. Walker, op. cit. (note 16). There are limitations to this function, however. Clio Medica favours that if an edited collection or an item from an edited collection is previously cited all subsequent citations of chapters from the edited volume not yet cited should still use editor last names and op. cit. when referring to the edited collection (e.g. Note 1. J. Doe, 'Chapter', in A. Guy (ed.), Edited Collection (London: Routledge, 1999), 45-78. Note 5 Doe, op. cit. (note 1). Note 10 J. Smith, 'Another Chapter' in Guy, op. cit. (note 1), 23-44. This style can reproduce Reference 5 but not Reference 10 in the foregoing example. There's no way yet to do this in csl I believe). Quotations are single rather than double. Journal article volume numbers use roman numerals (although this agrees with the only available Clio Medica style sheet in fact at least some imprints from Clio Medica use arabic numerals for journal volumes, so this aspect may change). Journal articles do not include issue numbers. Author first names are rendered as initials. Editor(s) is (are) rendered in shortened form with brackets and the plural has no period at the end - thus (ed.) and (eds). For chapter articles in edited collections the editors precede the volume title. Manuscript document types are designed to be used for archival sources. Hence for this document type if there is no date entered it does not produce "n.d.". Also, the order in which archival fields are outputted for manuscript and letter document types is Archive, Archival Location and Call Number with a ", " between each field. If you do not enter an author or title for these document types it will just output these three fields both the the first time the reference is cited and in subsequent citations (so the latter instance would look like, Archive, Archive Location, Call Number, op. cit. (note #). Also the title of manuscript or letter documents do not have quotes. I know that this won't suit every archival document but as it's easier to input quotes manually than to take them away I felt it was the best solution. The dates for most other document types are rendered as year only. The major exception is for letters where Clio Medica favours a title without quotes detailing the recipient followed by the text "dated" and with the day month and year included (e..g. Letter to Albert Camus, dated 5 February 1952). Newspapers and magazine articles also include the day, month and year for the date of issue. URLs and access date for online sources appear by default only for webpages (blogs, webpages, podcasts, etc) and broadcasts (tv and radio) and for journal, newspaper and magazine articles only when no page range has been unspecified. You can set it so that the urls and access dates will appear for journal, newspaper and magazine articles by clicking the checkbox 'Include URLs of paper articles in references' in the tab available at Zotero Preferences->Cite->Styles. For reports, if you wish to include sessional details for British Parliamentary Papers etc, enter into the Report Number field. All the difficult coding was derived from solutions proposed by the ever patient zotero forum user adamsmith and, in one instance, by the zotero forum user Rintze. All mistakes and inelegancies in the coding are mine however. The coding that I've done is probably pretty horrible but it does work.
