 Abstract: This project is dedicated to computer aided support of functional diagnostics of the entire human orbit, inter alia with focus on the extra-ocular muscles and the optic nerve. Therefore, radiological imaging by MRI has to be referred to. Three approaches were followed, firstly highly resolved 3D-reconstruction of the ocular anatomy, further so called oculodynamic MRI with radiological acquisition of only one MRI slice but including near real-time eye movements, thirdly sequential MRI with full 4D-visualization. The oculo-dynamic MRI has already been integrated in the clinical setting as part of routine MRI examination. The full 4D-approach which was rated as very promising by clinical experts has been successfully applied for a control.
