Abstract: In this review, we discuss some of the results of early multisensory influences on auditory processing, and provide evidence that sensory integration occurs distributed and across several processing stages. In particular, we discuss some of the methodological aspects relevant for studies seeking to localize and characterize multisensory influences, and emphasize some of the recent results pertaining to speech and voice integration.
