Zusammenfassung:
In the past, regulatory networks in stomatal guard cells have been investigated using electrophysiological, Ca2+ and pH imaging, biochemical, and whole-plant (gas exchange) techniques. Only recently have researchers started to employ molecular genetic approaches to address stomatal physiology. A short overview of recent progress in the current understanding of molecular aspects of guard cells is given here.
