Abstract: The triple-exponential monomer and excimer fluorescence decays of 1,3-di(1-pyrenyl)propane in n-heptane at 61 °C are analyzed simultaneously using the method of “global analysis”. It is shown that the data can be completely described within the context of a three-state model (one excited state monomer and two excimers). No experimental evidence for the existence of resolvable distributions of decay times is found.
