 Abstract: The BRST-Antifield reformulation of the deformation problem is reviewed in a self-contained and heuristic way. The focus is on finding all consistent interaction terms for fields propagating on a Minkowskian D-dimensional spacetime. Particular emphasis is put on the physical interpretation for the mathematical objects of the formalism.
