 Abstract: Using Chemical Exchange Saturation Transfer (CEST)-MR Imaging, an increased magnetisation transfer in the frequency domain of lactate effect could be observed in the human calf after muscular strain. Employing 31P-spectroscopy, it could additionally be shown
that the measured effect cannot be solely explained by a change in pH value. In conclusion it is possible to detect an intra-cellular change in lactate concentration in vivo.
