Abstract:
Acquisition-weighting is an often applied technique to reduce contamination in chemical shift imaging experiments which require a large number of scans due to sensitivity reasons. For measurements where the total number of scans is only slightly larger than the number of voxels, usually no weighting is used, resulting in heavily contaminated spectra. Here it is shown how acquisition-weighting can also be used in such experiments without loss of spatial resolution by adjusting the parameters of the weighting function. Even for a relatively small number of scans, this can strongly improve the localization of the experiment.
