Abstract: The emergence of the ‘regional tiger under the Tatras’, as the financial press called the radical neo-liberal reform program of the former centre-right Slovak government, illustrated an important shift in the policy orientation of many other East-Central Europe governments (ECE). This shift reflected one of the ways in which post-socialist Eastern European governments produced their own forms of post-Fordist global transformation.
