 Abstract: A closer look at α,β‐unsaturated hydrazonium ions reveals that they are isoelectronic to the pentadienyl anion, making them suitable substrates to undergo 6π electrocyclizations. The enantioselective catalysis of this transformation is achieved for the first time by asymmetric Brønsted acid catalysis.
