 Abstract: Six new species of Empididae (Diptera) are described from the West Usambara Mts in Tanzania: Brachystoma flavella sp. n. belonging to the subfamily Brachystomatinae: Hemerodromia denticulata sp. n. Drymodromia flaviventris sp. n. and D. bimaculata sp. n. belonging to the subfamily Hemerodromiinae; and Roederiodes tanzaniae sp. n. and Clinocera (Kowarzia) usambarica sp. n. belonging to the subfamily Clinocerinae. R. tanzaniae sp. n. is the first species of Roederiodes to be recorded from the Afrotropical Region.
