Abstract:
The authors describe Mormia alphina , from the Western Alps, and M. sarai , from Sicily, belonging to the apicealba group M. alpina sp. n. is distinguished in having a pedicel whose inner prolongation towers above the distal end of the first flagellar segment; the shape of the palpus is most aberrant; the genital and the anal valves are specifically shaped, as well as the aedeagus and the dististyles. M. sarai sp. n., the most southern species of the group, is distinguished in having small sized port hole organs and only slightly modified palpus segments; also the shape of the subgenital and the anal plates is distinctive, as well as the shape of the dististyles.
