Abstract:
N. Banks (1938) listed Neoperla claggi as an originally included species of Phanoperla . Because no description seemed to exist, it was considered a nomen nudum (Zwick 1982). Afterwards, the relevant paper (Banks 1937) was located. It contains the description of four species which had been properly entered in the Zoological Record but have never been recognized by students of Plecoptera. Their names are missing from Plecoptera catalogues despite the fact that there are references to the paper as such (Jewett 1958, Illies 1966). These available names are listed. The author's recent paper is corrected with regard to Phanoperla claggi .
