Abstract:
In a plankton sample series from the mesotrophic Selenter See taken in the years 1987 and 1988, a Bosmina (Eubosmina) population with a long mucro at the ventro-caudal corner of the carapace was found. This is the only occurrence of such a Bosmina (Eubosmina) morph in Holstein lakes. Morphometric analysis revealed discontinous variation in mucro length. However, the taxonomic ranks of these different morphs remain dubious. A relationship is suspected between the occurrence of this Bosmina-morph and the trophic state of the lake.
