Abstract:
Electronic portfolios (ePortfolios) are electronic versions of paper
based portfolios. They are increasingly applied in education. Software
for building and maintaining ePortfolios is emerging; open specifications
for the exchange of ePortfolios exist. They show the potential to
serve as a standard tool for documenting achievements in lifelong
learning. In this paper we explore the potential of ePortfolios for scientists.
