 Abstract: Little is known about what information is encoded by primary whisker afferents. Using extracellular single-unit recordings from the trigeminal ganglion during white noise stimulation of the innervated whisker, we attempted to characterize neurons’ response profiles using the linear-nonlinear-Poisson (LNP) model.
