Abstract: Knowledge of the relaxation times is not only necessary for sequence optimization; it may also be decisive to judge the advantages for ultra-high field MRI. Here, T1, T2 and T2* in the rat brain were measured at 16.4 T with a spatial resolution of 180 µm inplane. The relaxation times were quantified with high accuracy for 20 anatomical structures and maps were generated to display the spatial distribution of the relaxation times over the brain.
