Abstract:
Although angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) has been used
for detailed study of the layered perovskite copper-oxide
superconductors for nearly ten years, Sr2RuO4 is the first metal of this
structural class for which it has been possible to obtain detailed Fermi
surface data from both quantum oscillations and ARPES. We show that the
two techniques give very different results, and present strong evidence
that the current interpretation of ARPES data is not representative of
the bulk electronic structure of Sr2RuO4.
