Abstract: The title systems include a large number of intermediate phases which have been characterized by their phase relations on the respective quasibinary sections and by their crystal structures. Oxygen and nitrogen sites of the solvent molecules act as donors to the central lithium ions which, thereby, mainly get a tetrahedral coordination; halogen ions may also contribute to this first coordination sphere. A structural concept is developed on the basis of the tendency of condensation of the lithium coordination-polyhedra by sharing common vertices. The highest ionic conductivity is observed for compounds with discrete complex ions which are formed by the smaller solvent molecules.
