 Abstract: Neutron scattering experiments were performed on single crystals of (CexLa1-x)Al2 with x varying between 0.07 and 0.70 in the temperature range from 3 to 300 K. The energy spectra of the magnetically scattered neutrons were analysed in terms of two quasielas-tic lines due to the relaxation of the isolated Ce3+ ions in the Γ7 and Γ8 levels and of an inelastic line due to the crystal field transition between the levels. The temperature dependence of the intensities and linewidths is discussed.
