Zusammenfassung: Chromophores are incorporated in a highly ordered manner in molecular sieve crystals. The resulting geometric arrangement is determined by the pore structure. Microfocus u.v.-vis spectroscopy on individual zeolite microcrystals is used for the investigation of the electronic states of the incorporated compounds. The polarization-dependent measurements on single crystals allow the determination of the alignment of zeolite-hosted guest molecules. The new method can be used to determine the guest concentration in the microcrystal at very low loading via the Lambert-Beer law.
