Abstract: For the application in cabin air filtration the adsorption of low concentrated (4 ppm(V)) nitrogen dioxide and nitrogen monoxide in air on modified activated carbon and a reference material was studied at 23°C. The adsorbent is modified with nanoscale metal oxide catalysts embedded in the activated carbon. The differences in adsorption and reaction of nitrogen dioxide and nitrogen monoxide are presented by breakthrough curves of each adsorptive. The different conversion steps are discussed with reaction equations.
