Abstract: Neuropeptides play important roles in chemical signalling in the central and peripheral nervous systems. One of the largest families of neuropeptides is that of the FMRFamide-like peptides (FLPs). This paper reviews what is known about the physiological functions of FLPs in crustaceans, focussing on the cardiovascular, digestive and neuromuscular systems.
