Abstract: The experimental reconstruction of phase and amplitude distributions of highly confined light fields is of utmost importance for a multitude of scientific research areas. Here, we present a particle-based experimental approach and reconstruction algorithm for the fully vectorial field reconstruction and discuss its applications. This method allows for reconstruction with deep sub-wavelength resolution. Furthermore, we introduce the extension of this scheme for the reconstruction of purely evanescent fields.
