 Zusammenfassung: We discuss the use of optical antennas for the modification of the radiative properties of single emitters such as organic molecules. In particular, we report on our experimental results regarding the modification of the spontaneous emission and excitation rates, as well as the emission spectrum and directionality of single fluorescent molecules in the vicinity of plasmonic nanostructures. Furthermore, we present novel dielectric and metallo-dielectric planar antennas for bundling the emission of an emitter into a well-defined mode, leading to collection efficiencies up to 99% for the emitted single photons.
