 Abstract: We report a sensitive evanescent field sensor using air-suspended solid-core fibers. Excellent agreement between measured and calculated mode profiles allows us to measure quantitative broadband absorption spectra with sample volumes as low as 1 mu L. (C)2008 Optical Society of America
