 Abstract: Magnetic measurements on iron(III)-complexes of amino acids show that in these compounds, as also in Ferritin, there are 3 unpaired electrons for each iron atom. From this it follows that, according to the Pauling theory, there is a square-planar arrangement of the 4 ligands.
