 Abstract: A series of cellulose derivatives containing each of the major nucleosides has been prepared by the action of epichlorohydrin and nucleoside on cellulose. The chromatographic behaviour of yeast tRNA on the materials has been studied, and the results of variations in pH and of the presence or absence of magnesium ions are described. The behaviour of a mixture of yeast proteins and nucleic acids on some of the derivatives was also investigated, and the potentialities of these materials as chromatographic media for the purification of nucleic acids and proteins have been evaluated.
