Abstract:
Here we report on dielectric studies on Ni3TeO6. We confirm the spin-driven pyroelectric transition at the Neel temperature (T-N) of similar to 52.5 K. The measurement of single crystalline and polycrystalline samples excludes a ferroelectric nature of the transition at TN in this compound. The excellent pyroelectric properties without any intrinsic ferroelectric hysteresis make Ni3TeO6 appropriate for applications in future devices.
