 Abstract: Sodium imaging is challenging due to its inherently low signal-to-noise ratio. However, the sensitivity can be increased considerably if data acquisition is performed at ultrahigh field with optimized MR coils and sequences. In this work, two novel coil setups for multi-nuclear sodium/proton imaging at 9.4 Tesla as well as some in vivo applications are presented.
