 Abstract: A family of square planar nickel(II) complexes containing N-heterocyclic carbene ligands as well as tri-dentate, dianionic ligands was prepared by two different methods. The compounds were characterised
by various spectroscopic methods and the solid-state structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray
diffraction. Electrochemical studies of the compounds are also reported.
