Zusammenfassung: The role of inhibitory neurons embedded in neuronal circuits during spontaneous and evoked activity is far from being understood as their basic properties, such as spontaneous firing and evoked response rates, are not well characterized. I will present findings from our lab that addresses the role of identified inhibitory and excitatory neurons during sensory stimulation and discuss the implications of their properties on sensory processing within a cortical column.
