 Abstract: Warnfried Dettling beklagt, grob resümiert, die fehlende Relevanz der heutigen Soziologie und begründet das zum einen mit dem Verschwinden ihres Gegenstands "Gesellschaft" und zum anderen mit dem Verlust ihrer allgemeinen Orientierungsfunktion. Beide Begründungen sind anfechtbar, ohne daß deshalb die kritische These völlig falsch wäre.
