 Abstract: In case of solute/solvent systems exhibiting the Shpolskii effect, we observed the possibility to select quasi-lines of the phosphorescence spectrum when populating the triplet state as usual via S0→S1 absorption. Laser excitation selection also allows the observation of phosphorescence and ODMR from subsites of the inhomogeneously broadened Shpolskii quasi-line.
