 Abstract: A synopsis and a determination key are proposed for the scorpion fauna of the Manaus region in
the State of Amazonas, Brazil. Tityus raquelae new species (Buthidae) and Brotheas amazonicus new
species (Chactidae) are described. Some comments concerning the taxonomic position and the geographic distribution of the species are also included.
