Abstract: Using online survey data conducted during a pilot phase of the “EcoBus” project, one of thelargest true door-to-door demand responsive transport (DRT) field experiments in rural areas,thispaperinvestigatesthewillingnesstopayfordifferentmodesoftransport.ItisassumedthatthewillingnesstopayisaffectedbyparametersfavourableforthesusceptibilityofDRTservicesandvariablesconcerningeco-friendliness.Totesttheassumptionselevenhypothesisarederived.The results imply that a high dependence on EcoBus and ecological motivations lead to ahigherwillingnesstopayforDRTservices.Thereisalsoevidencethatanecologicalmindsetleadsto a lower willingness to pay for motorised transport as a whole. Contrary to expectations, carownership does not reduce willingness to pay for DRT services.
