Zusammenfassung: Non-linear electric relaxation was studied in asymmetric membrane cells: solution A/membrane/solution B. Solutions A and B in either concentration or composition. The conductivity of these cells exhibit time-dependent rectification: this is understood as electrically- induced concentration changes within the membrane. Step current, step voltage and sinesoidal measurements are presented, along with a simple relaxation model which reproduces the experimental data. Oscillating response functions are observed with some cells. These are thought to arise from partially-uncoupled exchange of different ionic species between the solutions and the membrane.
