 Abstract: Spin-resolved photoelectron and Auger spectra were measured near the maximum of the Xe 4d photoionization at 93.8 eV. The results were used to derive a complete set of relativistic dipole matrix elements and their relative phases. These transition amplitudes are compared with theoretical calculations and a semiempirical approach utilizing a critical survey of the present experimental photoionization data. This analysis shows that this prominent photoionization process may be well described within a 4-parameter model.
