Abstract: This chapter reviews the implications of the Pristionchus pacificus genome for survival attributes. It provides an overview of the current understanding of the association of Pristionchus nematodes and other members of the Diplogastridae with insects and beetles in particular. It then discusses findings of the P. pacificus genome in the light of the life history of this nematode.
