Abstract: This chapter presents an incomplete overview of techniques for the joint quantification of multiple relaxometry parameters from a single experiment. The joint approach has several advantages over the sequential quantification of multiple parameters. First, it guarantees that the two (or more) parameter maps fit perfectly onto each other, that is, they are in a similar motion state with similar amount of physiological motion induced blur. For this reason, the simultaneous quantification is especially beneficial in a contrast-enhanced acquisition. In addition, chemical shift and distortion artifacts are also automatically matched. Furthermore, a single multiproperty technique experiment can sometimes be faster than running separate experiments for each parameter of interest. And finally, the correlation between parameters within one voxel can be of interest, for example, the dependency of T1 on T2* and vice versa, which is something that only (some) multiproperty techniques can provide.
