 Abstract: Two aspects of background suppression are elaborated for LEGEND. In the first, the background identification was improved by introducing PEN as new optically transparent and scintillating structural material. In the second, pulse-shape simulations were used to obtain the 0νββ-decay detection efficiency of BEGe detectors.
