Abstract: This project aims to investigate the neural correlates of long COVID using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Anatomical, diffusion-weighted, fluid-attenuated and quantitative susceptibility imaging will be performed. We will test the association of SarsCov2 infection and long COVID symptoms with gray matter volume of olfactory, gustatory and memory-related brain regions as well as white matter microstructure of relevant limbic tracts. Further, we will explore other neuroimaging measures in relation to the disease status as well as cognitive, smell and taste function.
