 Abstract: n this issue of Neuron, Norman et al. (2021) show that contrary to classical systems consolidation theories, hippocampal ripples orchestrate recall of both autobiographical and semantic memories. Similarity of ripple patterns furthermore suggests a semantization process as autobiographical memories age.
