Abstract: Background: The hemo sensitive flash sequence is common in clinical MRI of intracerebral hemorrhage. High susceptibility of blood prod- ucts results in fast T2* relaxation & leads to a strong dark appearance of hemorrhagic lesions in this sequence. An acceleration of MRI is fa- voured to reduce the patient’s burden & to increase the capacity utiliza- tion of MR scanners. Shortening of acquisition times of hemo sensitive flash sequences is not limited by technical restrictions, but by time nec- essary for the spins to dephase & develop reasonable image contrast. Here, we present a method to accelerate the hemo sensitive flash meas- urement by acquiring a double echo flash & creating the hemo sensitive contrast at longer echo times by calculating the T2* relaxation parame- ters from those two images.
