Abstract: Parallelisms and features that deviate from the rules of standard language form a large part of the optional linguistic features used in poetry, but also in other forms of stylized language use, such as proverbs or advertising slogans. This preprint contains a manual with instructions for annotating poetic features that are either parallelistic or based on deviations from linguistic norms in any kind of rhymed and metered text. It serves to capture the degree to which texts make use of parallelism and deviation, which can in turn be used to predict their effect on readers and listeners.
