Abstract:
In this thesis a lithium–target was state–prepared for kinematically complete studies in a MOTReMi. A MOTReMi is a combination of a magneto–optical trap (MOT) with an reactionmicroscope (ReMi), which allows for the measurement of the momenta of the fragments of the laser–cooled target after an ionization event. At first the laser setup was extended by an excitation beam for preparing the Lithium from the ground state 1s22s in one of the m = -1 substates of the 1s22p excited state. Next the polarisation of the target was measured using its fluorescence light, a degree of polarisation of P = 0;897 0;036 for m = -1 and P = 0;977 0;037 for m = +1 was achieved. At last the Photoionization of the prepared target in one of the (m = +1) and (m = -1) substate of the 1s22p state was studied using a linearly polarized UV–Laser. The angular distribution of Photoelectrons was measured and by comparing the substates magnetic dichroism was observed.
