 Abstract: The X-ray structural analysis of the SnCl4 adduct of 2-benzyloxy-3- pentanone shows for the first time the existence and precise geometry of a monomeric chiral α-alkoxy ketone chelate.

For the first time a Lewis acid chelate of a chiral α-alkoxy carbonyl compound has been studied by X-ray structural analysis.
