Abstract: A spin -1/2 chain system coupled to the elastic subsystem of the crystal is considered. Due to that coupling, the intersite spin nematic ordering in the spin subsystem takes place. The phase transition to the ordered phase is studied using the exact quantum-mechanical approach. It is shown how the nonzero temperature and the external magnetic field affect the transition to the intersite spin nematic phase and the phase itself.
