Abstract: In this study we used data from simultaneous [18F]FDG-PET/BOLD-fMRI experiments to investigate how optogenetic stimulation of the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc) in rats affects brain functional (FC) and metabolic connectivity (MC). Our data show an isolation of the striatum during stimulation and negative correlations of the SNc with cortical and cerebellar regions, supporting evidence of a Cb-SNc connection.
