 Abstract: A three‐class society: Jasmonates, a group of oxylipin phytohormones differentially induce changes in intracellular Ca2+ concentrations in plant cells (see diagram). Structure–activity analysis revealed that jasmonates fall into three distinct classes: 1) compounds inducing Ca2+ changes in both the cytosol and the nucleus 2) compounds inactive on either compartment, and 3) compounds acting selectively on the nucleus.
